ONE FOR ALL CINEMA 7

Here are the instructions for setting up an "One For All" Cinema 7 remote control for the Apex 500W as told by Mark F. in the USA. I will let him explain because he has done such a good job at it!

I thought the following might be useful for anyone trying to use a Universal remote control to control the AD500W. The One For All Cinema 7 is available from Walmart for around $16 (US), and can control up to 7 device types, eg TV, VCR, DVD etc. The down side is that the device doesn't support the AD-500W ..... at least not straight out of the box .....!

The following procedure explains how to set it up. Steps 1 and 2 must be performed first. All button names are the buttons on the Cinema 7 remote (NOT the Apex remote!)

1. Hold 'Setup' until LED blinks twice, 9,9,2, 'TV', 'DVD' (this sets the DVD key to be another TV device)

2. Press 'DVD', hold 'Setup' until LED blinks twice, 0,0,5,6 (this sets the DVD key to control a TV type 0056)

The following step needs to be repeated for each key that you are setting up on the Cinema 7. Get the value for <CODE> and the <CINEMA 7 BUTTON> from the table below.

3. Hold 'Setup' until the LED flashes twice, 9,9,4, 'Setup', <CODE>, <CINEMA7 BUTTON>

For example, to set the power button, do this:
Hold 'Setup' until the LED flashes twice, 9,9,4, 'Setup',0, 5, 2, 'POWER' (the red button in the middle near the top).

NOTE: You can assign any code to any key, but I think the ones shown are logical. Some keys don't have a useful equivalent AD500W function, e.g. SLEEP, so I have left these blank ... but you could program it to be another power button for example.
