THE APEX/HITEKER AD-600A REGION/MACROVISION HACK

Here is the procedure for accessing the Loophole Menu on the AD-600A. Note that the background picture is different for a Hiteker AD-600A but the procedure is the same.

NOTE! If you cannot access the Loophole Menu then your player does not support it. In reality MOST of the AD-600A players made CANNOT access theLoophole Menu so do not be suprised if yours cannot.

What to press

What you'll see

Press POWER. Turn on the unit with NO DISC in the drive, make sure that the drive is closed.

Wait for "NO DISC" to display

Press SETUP.
You will get the setup screen.

Press DOWN until PREFERENCES is highlighted.

Press STEP.

Press track BACK.|<<

Press track FORWARD.>>|
The "Loopholes" menu is displayed.

Here in the loopholes menu. You can change things like Region ID, CSS Encryption, Macrovision, and other things.

Only Region settings and turning Macrovision off is of any real use.
