APEX 700 Patches

Now with SAMPO 631CF firmware with loophole menu - see below

WonderWho was the first to do it with a Region & Macrovision hack for the 700.

Now Nowhereman takes it one step further by releasing a Region Free/Macrovision Disabled/RCE defeated AND Mini-DVD firmware for the 700!

The latest original 700-AM and 700-MM firmware (Dated 26 July 2001) can be downloaded HERE as one zip file containing both AM and MM.

An earlier release of the original firmware (Dated 20 Feb 2001) can be downloaded HERE as one zip file containing both AM and MM versions.

SAMPO 631CF firmware with loophole menu

This is Nowhereman's Sampo 631CF V2.1 - Apex AD-700 Mod 1.0 reinstated with the Loopholes for region id and macrovision from patchwork38's Sampo-LH patch.

Note that the Sampo firmware requires another step to get started after pushing the main power switch. Push the open/close button on the front panel or press power on the remote. The front display will flash and the unit will start up.

Nowhereman had made the following changes to the original Sampo firmware:
-AD-700 Remote control (DV-R200) works properly. Note that the Sampo firmware doesn't support volume control or Muting so these fetures wont work.
-AD-700 Front Panel Buttons work perfectly.
-AD-700 Analog audio output works perfectly.

SAMPO FIRMWARE V2.0

Here is a "V2.0" version of the Sampo firmware. It has Display, Remote,
front panel buttons, and Analog Audio with the loophole menu reinstated (all regions or region bypass with a toggle for macrovision).

Thanks to Berserko for this contribution! He warns, however "It works fine on my unit but as usual use at your own risk."

SAMPO FIRMWARE V3.0b

Berserko has done it again! Here is V3.0 of the Sampo firmware which now adds Nowhereman's MP3 Play through SubFolder mod and Loophole Menu Reinstated.

Version 3.0b has this addition:

Version 3.0 has these changes:
Indigonose's Boot-up to On patch (no more hitting the remote power or Open/Close button)
Indignose's No more Blinking when turned on patch

Version 2.0 has these changes:
Indignose has fixed the Front panel display.

Version 1.0 has these changes to the original Sampo firmware:
