DAEWOO DS-2500N

While it is possible to change the region setting on the Daewoo DS-2500N, the procedure for disabling Macrovision (if such a procedure even exists) is not yet known. Sorry.
To change the region setting:
1. Eject the disc tray.
2. Push SETUP on the remote control.
3. Using the arrow keys on the remote, enter the PARENTAL CONTROL menu.
4. Inside the PARENTAL CONTROL menu, highlight
DEFAULTS, and then RESET.
DO NOT PUSH "OK"
on the remote after selecting RESET.
5. While RESET is highlighted, push the following
buttons on the remote:
5 2 7 X
(X = your choice of Regions 0 through 8;
Region 0 = BYPASS/REGION-FREE).
So for example, if you
wanted to make the player Region-Free, you would push 5 2 7 0.
To set the player to Region 1, you would push 5 2 7 1.
To set the player to Region 4, you would push 5 2 7 4.
6. After entering the code, you will see the word
"REGION:"
followed by the word "FREE" (if you pushed 5 2 7 0),
"1" (if you pushed 5 2 7 1),
"4" (if you pushed 5 2 7 4), etc.
7. NOW push OK on the remote.
8. You will now be taken to a PASSWORD VERIFY
screen.
Enter 0 0 0 0 with the remote, and press OK.
9. Push SETUP to exit the menu, and close the disc tray.
It is not yet known whether the DS-2500N firmware is "RCE-proof". So if you set the REGION-FREE option, and get an error message when trying to play an RCE disc, repeat the steps above, entering the appropriate code which matches the region setting of the disc.
