Hiteker 660 Firmware

HITEKER 660-2AM

This firmware has been taken from an Australian Hiteker AD-660 and is Region Free, Macrovision disabled and RCE immune. It is possible to CDR upgrade with this firmware, however there are some rules as listed below.

Click HERE for the 660-2AM firmware.

NOTE: This firmware only works via CDR in SOME Hiteker 660 players. Only "AM" versions of the Hiteker 660 are CDR upgradable with this firmware. An "MM" version of the 660 will not upgrade.

HOWEVER, you can manually program an "MM" chip with this firmware in a chip programmer, but be aware that once this firmware is loaded you can not CDR upgrade anymore unless you manually re-program the chip with "MM" firmware first. This is because the "AM" chip can program itself with both the "AM" and "MM" firmware instructions but the "MM" can only program itself with "MM" instructions. An "MM" chip loaded with "AM" firmware will not CDR upgrade.

For further CDR upgrading once this firmware it loaded it looks for the filename "UGK660AM.ROM" so make sure any other firmware you wish to try is called this.

CAUTION: Using the Hiteker 660-2AM firmware on an Apex 660 may be risky because there are a few different "flavours" of the 660 so be careful! The main difference is that the remote control for an Apex 660 is an DV-R200 while the Hiteker 660 is a RC-320 remote. THESE ARE NOT THE SAME. Also a Hiteker 660 has component video output whereas an Apex 660 does not.

Remember I do not own a Hiteker 660 player so please do not ask me for any support regarding the firmware patches! All care taken in accurately providing this information which is kindly provided by others who do own there players. Please visit the Apex Forums and go to the "660 General Discussion" page if you require any assistance.
