Hiteker AD-700 Firmware

This firmware has been taken from an Australian Hiteker AD-700 and is Region Free, Macrovision disabled and RCE immune. It is possible to CDR upgrade with this firmware.

The Hiteker AD-700 uses the same chipset as an AD-600A however the remote control and front panel button assignment is different.
The firmware DOES work in an AD-600A (and AD-600A firmware will work in a Hiteker AD-700) but the front panel keys are jumbled up and you will need a different remote control.

THE FIRMWARE (version HIT700-2AM)

TO MAKE THE CDR (either version of firmware):

1. Unzip the downloaded file of choice.

2. Using your CDR burning software add the file UGK700AM.ROM and TEST20MB.TXT to your project (the TEST20MB.TXT file is a "dummy" 20MB file that is required for some DVD-ROM loaders to recognise the upgrade.)

3. Burn disc ISO9660, Mode 1, Track at once, closed CD. With Nero use ISO 1 MODE 1 and click DOS in the Character set.

When upgrading the screen will not look normal. This is OK and just wait for the upgrade to finish, which will be under 10 minutes. If you mistakenly use the wrong firmware (ie your remote does not work) just burn the correct version of firmware and re-flash the player. There is NO LIMIT to the amount of times you can flash the player.

CHANGING THE BACKGROUND IMAGE

If you want to change the background you can! The procedure is easy because a program called ApexLogo is used to change the background image. Click HERE for instructions on how to do that and for ApexLogo.

NOTE: ApexLogo expects the firmware to have a .BIN filename extension. Therefore download the required firmware (above) and change the unzipped file UGK700AM.ROM to UGK700AM.BIN before using ApexLogo.

Remember!!! once you have changed the picture with ApexLogo, change the new file you have saved to UGK700AM.ROM otherwise the player will not "see" the file and therefore not upgrade!
